First Holy Communion
The first reception of the Body and Blood of Christ, after a year of preparation.
Children ordinarily receive First Holy Communion after completing the parish catechism programme, usually at around nine years of age.
The celebration is held as a group Mass at the close of the catechetical year.
Requirements
- Baptismal certificate
- Completion of the parish catechism programme
- Attendance at the first confession and the rehearsal
