Privacy Policy

How Mater Dolorosa Parish collects, uses, protects and shares personal information, and your rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

Who we are

Mater Dolorosa Parish, Barangay Dolores, Capas, Tarlac (Diocese of Tarlac) operates this website at www.materdolorosaparish.com. For anything in this notice, contact the parish office at materdolorosaparish98@gmail.com or 0969 232 2351, or visit during office hours.

What we collect

  • Contact form — your name, email address, optional mobile number, the topic and your message, so the office can reply.
  • Accounts — accounts are created only by the parish office, by invitation. We store your email address, your name and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile photo your Google account shares with us. We use these only to sign you in and to show who did what in the parish admin.
  • Requests and bookings (as these features launch) — the details you give when requesting a certificate, scheduling a sacrament or sending a Mass intention: names as they appear in parish records, dates, and your contact details.
  • Technical data — our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to run and secure the site. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell personal information to anyone.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiries, manage parish services you ask for (certificates, sacraments, events), keep parish sacramental records as required by canon law, run the website securely, and — only if you ask for them — send parish communications.

Who can see it

Parish staff and volunteers who need it for their role, under access controls. The website runs on trusted service providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting) and Google (only when you choose to sign in with Google). We share personal information with no one else, except when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Contact-form messages are kept for up to two years after the matter is closed. Account information is kept while the account is active. Sacramental records are permanent parish registers under canon law and are governed by the Diocese's record policies.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by role, and administrative actions are logged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting you occurs we will notify you and the National Privacy Commission as RA 10173 requires.

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, object to or withdraw consent for its use, or ask for it to be deleted where the law and canonical record-keeping allow. Write to the parish office at the contact details above; we will respond within a reasonable time. You may also complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).

Children

Parish activities involve minors (catechism, youth ministry). Information about minors is collected only from a parent or guardian, or with their consent, and used only for the activity it was given for.
